Board of Directors

Incorporated in January 2025, the British Columbia Total Rewards Network (BCTRN) is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led organization. The network is governed by a committed board of directors who provide leadership, fiscal oversight, governance, and strategic direction. Together, they work to ensure members remain informed about emerging trends and evolving practices in the Total Rewards profession, while fostering meaningful networking and professional development opportunities.

Soumya is the driving force behind the BC Total Rewards Network (BCTRN). Her passion for advancing the Total Rewards profession led her to identify a critical gap in BC's professional community and establish BCTRN - creating a dedicated space where practitioners can connect, share insights, tackle challenges, and drive innovation.

With over a decade of HR experience spanning multiple industries, Soumya has developed expertise in compensation, benefits, and people analytics. In her current role as Manager, Compensation and People Analytics at Community Living BC, she leads strategic initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness and employee experiences. Her approach is anchored in data-driven decision-making, strategic thinking, and continuous improvement - values she brings to both her professional work and BCTRN.

As both a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), Soumya has successfully aligned compensation and benefits strategies with organizational goals throughout her career. Through BCTRN, she is leading the effort to build a vibrant community where Total Rewards professionals can collectively elevate industry standards and practices in British Columbia, with the support of a dedicated board of directors.

When not advancing the Total Rewards profession, Soumya enjoys cooking, gardening, spending quality time with family, and discovering new insights through her favourite podcasts.

It all started with science. As a science student, Jeevan was fascinated by the logic and structure that science offered - precision, analysis, and problem-solving. But as she navigated through her career, she soon realized that her true passion wasn’t just about numbers and formulas; it was about people. The connection, the dynamics, the stories of individuals - that’s where her heart was.

This realization led her to transition from science to human resources, where she became fascinated by how organizations value their greatest asset - people. Over the years, this curiosity has shaped a global career spanning the UK, India, and Canada. She has honed her expertise in designing and implementing compensation and total rewards strategies that align with business goals and cultural nuances.

But Jeevan's professional journey isn’t just about consulting - it’s also about community and giving back. That’s why she is thrilled to join as the Vice President of Marketing and Events for the BC Total Rewards Network. She has always believed that the best way to grow is through collaboration, and in this role, she is committed to strengthening the connections within our industry. She is excited to contribute by curating meaningful events, fostering dialogue on current trends, and creating opportunities for our members to learn, connect, and evolve.

When not working, you'll find Jeevan in the kitchen cooking - it's something she does every single day! Cooking is her creative outlet and a way to unwind. She also has a growing love for hiking, which she has developed organically since she moved to Canada. Whether it's summer or winter, she finds peace on the trails, embracing nature and the challenge of the outdoors.
